Super effort by Kooringal broodmare

Makemeasupermodel’s breeding deeds skyrocketed in the space of just 48 hours during August.

The Kooringal Stud broodmare celebrated city success when her son Kookabaa won at Canterbury on August 5.

And two days later her Magic Albert filly Spiranac showed her class with a runaway victory at Tamworth.

Spiranac’s effort elevated Makemeasupermodel’s record to five foals to race for as many winners.

“Makemeasupermodel has already done a terrific job at stud and hopefully she has more winners to come,” Kooringal’s Stuart Lamont said.

Kookabaa and Spiranac have both been in hot form.

Trained at Gulgong by Brett Thompson, Kookabaa has notched four wins and a second from his past five appearances.

Spiranac backed up her maiden win for Scone trainer Rodney Northam with another easy victory in a Showcase race at Taree on August 23.

Expectations are high for Makemeasupermodel's two-year-old colt by Super One and yearling filly by the same sire.

The daughter of Catbird is among a number of quality broodmares who will be covered by Kooringal’s dual Group 1 winner Prized Icon this season.

Bookings continue to roll in for the AJC Champagne Stakes and VRC Derby hero, who accumulated more than $2.1 million in prizemoney.

“We are delighted that Prized Icon has another impressive book,” Stuart said.

“He ticks all the boxes as far as breeding, race record, conformation and temperament are concerned.

“And his first foals are outstanding.

“They are everything we hoped they would be.”

The son of More Than Ready will stand at a fee of $11,000 (inc GST) alongside War Front stallion The Brothers War in 2020.
