Excellent results for Kooringal's online sale

An imposing Duporth colt topped Kooringal Stud’s yearling draft at the Inglis Digital Online Sale in December.
Bidding reached $30,000 for the well-related youngster (pictured) when the five-day auction came to a close on December 16.
The brown colt is from the Snitzel mare Miss Cacciatore, who is also the dam of the stakesplaced Casa De Lago and the recent Hong Kong winner Run The Table.
One of Australia’s leading stables in Ciaron Maher and David Eustace will provide him with every chance to succeed on the racetrack.
Maher was impressed with Kooringal’s draft and wasted no time making his mark, purchasing Lot 1.
The Duporth filly is from the winning Magnus mare Abbalanche and fetched $10,000.
Kooringal was selling its draft exclusively online for the first time ever and sold all 20 lots offered with the average exceeding $12,000.
“I think there were nice opportunities for buyers,” Kooringal Stud’s Angus Lamont said.
"Some horses may have made more at a live auction but perhaps they wouldn’t have. To get the lot sold for a good average and take an opportunity early is a great result.
"To have a couple end up in the likes of Ciaron Maher’s stable is fantastic and probably wouldn’t have happened had they gone to an Inglis Classic or Adelaide sale up against several hundred others.
"The platform worked well and a number of horses made their value.”
A filly by Magic Albert from the winning Red Ransom mare Hewayaat was withdrawn after a minor setback and is likely to be offered at a future online sale.
An Epaulette filly and a daughter of Super One were in strong demand, with each selling for $27,500.
The Epaulette is a half-sister to five winners from as many to race for the city placed Albakoor (by Zabeel).
Mubakkir has provided seven of the 22 wins for Albakoor’s progeny and finished in the placings twice at Listed level.
The Super One is from the outstanding producer Makemeasupermodel, who has been represented in recent times by the smart sprinter Kookabaa and the promising Spiranac.
High-profile syndicator Hancox Bloodstock took home two yearlings.
Hancox Bloodstock outlaid $12,000 for a Duporth colt whose dam Ingham Magic won three races in Sydney and has produced the talented Stryke Rock, while they also snapped up a Magic Albert filly for $6000.
Angus Lamont believes the first major foray on the digital platform was a resounding success.
"The time, effort, stress and costs are all a lot less,” he said. “Half the horses have headed off to the breakers already, with the rest earmarked for the next couple of months. Overall I’m thrilled with the result.”
