Ancestry in flying form for The Brothers War

Top class sprinter Ancestry returned to the racetrack with a bang when he blitzed his rivals at Caulfield on Saturday (September 19).

Ancestry (pictured) boosted his record to five wins from 10 appearances and more than $200,000 in prizemoney with a dominant performance over 1200 metres.

The bay was bred by Kooringal Stud and sold as a yearling.

Ancestry is from the first crop of Kooringal's imported stallion The Brothers War, who stands this season alongside dual Group 1 winner Prized Icon.

"He will only improve from today fitness-wise and he will go on to bigger and better things," apprentice jockey Michael Poy said after the win.

The four-year-old is from Kooringal's outstanding broodmare Maltese, a daughter of Tale Of The Cat.

Maltese has had five to race for as many winners, including the Group 2 Skyline Stakes victor Diamond Tathagata.
