Yes Zariz Qualifies For Country Championship

Resident sire Zariz will be represented at Royal Randwick on Saturday 4th April by the Bruce Parker trained gelding Yes Zariz who claimed his start in the Country Championship in the final series qualifier at Dubbo on Sunday 22nd March.  Settling Yes Zariz amongst the back of the field, jockey Greg Ryan guided his horse through the field to find his run late in the race, working his way around Playing Game (third) to finish second behind the Peter Nestor trained Dane Delago who came home strongly on the outside.  A race replay can be viewed here.

The series was created to ensure country NSW trainers and owners are given the opportunity to partake in The Championships fever on Saturday 4th April with the winner and second placed horses in each of the seven qualifier races automatically given a start in the final of The Inaugural Country Championship Series, competing for $300,000 in prizemoney.
