Resident Kooringal Stud Stallion ALERT (ARG)'s promising gelding Power Alert, bred and owned by long-time clients of Kooringal Jim Power & his family, scored comfortably by 1 and 3/4 lengths on debut in Gulfstream, USA on Sunday 21st December. Power Alert was successful in his short Australian career, winning 4 races including country NSW's richest 2 yr old race The Wellington Boot before being placed under stewards embargo for bleeding. On arrival in America, Power Alert's trainer Bryan Lynch treated him for bleeding, including spending time in a hyperbaric chamber.
After Power Alert's comfortable win at Gulfstream Park yesterday, Bryan said "I always had it in the back of my mind that he had a lot of speed. I hand only ever worked him with company once, because I couldn't find any company good enough to work with him after that. It was a pleasant surprise today. I thought he might want to run a little bit farther, but it was a good field of older horses, and I think he did it very nicely. I'm very happy with him."
