Stuart
and Penny Lamont's Kooringal Stud ventured to the
William Inglis Classic Sale with seven quality yearlings
and vendors were not disappointed with the draft
supplied from the Wagga Wagga based property. With the
Kooringal sold Flaming putting up a great effort
on Saturday to run a gallant fourth in the Group 3
Frederick Clissold Stakes, it was a sign that the draft
was going to perform well.
The first of the draft through the ring was Lot 89, a Mr
Henrysee (USA) filly, a half sister to stakes winner
Reshuffles. It was fitting that this filly was one of
the highlights of the draft, as she was by the recently
deceased Kooringal based "Henry". Going to the final bid
of leading bloodstock agent Steve Brem for $56,000, the
filly was the second highest priced yearling from the
Kooringal Draft.
Lot 259, a Canny Lad colt that was offered on behalf of
Freshford Farm sold to S & A Sharrock of New Zealand for
$65,000. The colt was the first foal of the Desert King
(IRE) mare Arroyo. A half-sister to stakes-placed Play
The Field, Brittle (dam of Gr 3 winner CAPTAIN TEST),
Anoosh (dam of Gr 3 placed Al Megdam). Family of
multiple Gr 1 winners BLEVIC and UNIVERSAL PRINCE.
Further details of the results can be found on the
Yearlings Page.
