Not in 56 years has a horse carried such a big weight to
win the Cameron Handicap-Gr.3 at Newcastle but the
exciting front runner Court’s In Session could not be
stopped by his 60.5kg impost in Wednesday’s $125,000
event.
Putting on display his customary early dash, Court’s In
Session did not enjoy the easiest of early runs – taken
on by Gorgonite but shaking him off and digging deep
when challenged over the final stages by the flying
Malcolm.
As Gorgonite faded to last, Court’s In Session showed
just what a fighting tiger he is, the 4kg difference
between he and the classy Malcolm not enough to slow him
down!
No Cameron Handicap winner in 55 years had carried more
than 57kg, showing just how game Court’s In Session was
in recording the 14th win of his stellar 30 start
career.
Now boasting a his prize money tally of beyond $1.4
million, Court’s In Session will get the chance to
enhance on his record – the George Main Stakes-Gr.1 next
on his agenda.
From there his programme is open but trainer Guy Walter,
thrilled by his charge’s performance, did not rule out
the W.S Cox Plate as the ultimate spring aim.
A six times stakes winner, Court’s In Session is a son
of Kooringal Stud’s classy and consistent stallion
Bureaucracy.
A horse whose superior pace saw him win five of 12 –
including the George Ryder Stakes-Gr.1 – Bureaucracy was
a tough campaigner who, like his popular son, raced on
the pace.
With progeny earnings in excess of $11 million,
Bureaucracy is a proven upgrader. Nine of his sons and
daughters have won at stakes level and his daughters are
also passing on his speed genes – Jade Tiara producing
the Hong Kong champion Silent Witness (another
accomplished leader).
Boasting one of the best winners-to-runners strike rates
(65.9% ) in the country, Bureaucracy is as popular with
breeders as Court’s In Session is with racegoers.
“He is great for racing,” enthused Kooringal Stud’s
Stuart Lamont, “wherever he goes he draws a crowd – and
he is a wonderful advertisement for Bureaucracy.”
At a fee of just $5,500 (including gst), Bureaucracy is
Australia’s best value proven stallion and he is part of
a strong Kooringal roster that also consists of Bold
Expectation (Danehill – Miss Bold Appeal by Valid
Appeal) $3,300, Mr Henrysee (Mr Prospector – Cinegita by
Secretariat) $6,000 and Fubu (Last Tycoon – Hospitable
by Luskin Star) $5,500 whose promising 3Y0 son
Sayaprayerforme was a strong third at Moonee Valley last
Saturday.

defeating Cox Plate aspirant Racing To Win recently.
