The ‘fighting tiger’ of Sydney racing, Court’s In
Session’s amazing spirit came to the fore again today at
Rosehill when he won his second straight G2 Expressway
Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill.
Attacked early in the lead by Mindreader, Court’s In
Session rolled along in his usual free going fashion
until Mindreader could take no more rounding the home
turn. Court’s In Session was then attacked in the
straight by first Shania Dane and then the
three-year-old, Primus joined in the fight but the
courageous gelding packed to many punched in the run to
the line.
”He’s a wonderful horse,” trainer Guy Walter said after
the event.
”He got taken on the whole way but he’s just so
tenacious.
”He’s a tremendous horse and I think that was one of his
greatest wins.
”He fought of some very good horses in the straight.
“You just wouldn’t find a more courageous horse in
training.
”He’ll have his next run in the Apollo and then the
Chipping Norton and then we’ll see what happens.”
Court’s in Session 57.5kg ($4.80 SP) (D.Beasley)
defeated Shania Dane 55kg (4.40 SP) (R.Quinn) by a long
head with Primus 54.5kg ($4.80 SP) (H.Bowman) three
quarters of a length away in third.
The time for the race was 1.09.15 (last 600m in 34.18).
Dan Beasley then capped a memorable day by making it
three winners in a row including the two feature races
on the programme when he steered the Gai
Waterhouse-trained Anapine to victory in the Club Waugh
Syndication 3YO C3 Handicap (1400m).

Court's In Session defeats Shania Dane to win the Group
2
Expressway Stakes for the second year running.
