Kooringal Draft Sells Well In Adelaide

For the first time in Kooringal Stud’s 105 year history, the stud travelled west to the Magic Millions sales in Adelaide with a draft of four colts, two of which represented resident sires Krupt and Shrapnel.

The full draft offered at the sale sold; a pleasing result for our first trip to South Australia.  Staff received numerous compliments on horse presentation and education which is a credit to the dedicated and hardworking team of yearling preparation staff who strive to ensure each horse is turned out to the highest standard.

Kooringal’s highest priced offering, Lot 230 – a colt by Snippetson, was sold to Brisbane based trainer Liam Birchley of L B racing, an excellent judge of yearlings who will give the colt every possible opportunity to perform on the race track.  We wish all the best to the connections of this lovely colt.

Lot 165, a Shrapnel colt from a half-sister to G1 winner ABOVE DECK, was sold to Trevor Dansie, an Adelaide trainer who will race this colt on Shrapnel’s home turf where he was so dominant.  Congratulations and best wishes with this colt, Trevor.

The Adelaide Magic Millions sale followed on from the Inglis Classic Sydney sale in February where Kooringal offered a draft of nine horses.  Lot 115, a sixty thousand dollar colt by resident sire Shrapnel was sold to Louie Le Metayer of Astute thoroughbreds and we are pleased to hear that the colt was syndicated within days of selling.  Kooringal also offered Lot 122, an eighty five thousand dollar colt by I Am Invincible, who has recently travelled across the Nullabor to Neville Parnham in Perth, WA.

Kooringal would like to thank all of our supporters who have contributed to a successful season of yearling sales and wish the new owners and trainers of these young horses the best of luck with their quality new racing propositions, we hope to see you in the winners circle soon.
