Kooringal bred horses reign supreme at Wagga

The KL brand was prevalent at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Sunday April 3rd as three Kooringal Stud bred horses were first across the line on the seven race card.

It was a bitter-sweet victory for Flash Fibian in the first, as the Group 3 Black Opal runner up finally broke through for his maiden victory.

The Kooringal reared and part-owned Flash Fibian, was able to overcome the top weight and the outside barrier to win by a neck on the line, with Jeff Penza in the saddle.

Trained by Paul Murray, it was the first win for the stable since the sad passing of his father Bede last month.

Kooringal Stud, the MTC and Bede Murray have had a long racing relationship and it was touching to come together after such a difficult month.

The Trevor Sutherland trained Beryl’s Bombshell, by resident Kooringal stallion Shrapnel, also performed well, securing yet another placing.

Supa form continues

Supa Vision by Alert has continued his brilliant recent form in taking out race 6.

The six year old gelding out of long time Kooringal mare Eyes On You jumped from the outside barrier, but made the 1000 meter race his own flashing down the outside to bring up his third consecutive win for trainer Rob Potter.

Supa Vision has now won six and been placed in another five of his 21 starts and has taken his prize money earnings to over $72,000.

Oh So Fair

Oh So Unfair, a three year old gelding by Krupt rounded out a good day for Kooringal recording his second win from only five starts.

The Mark Gee trained galloper, ridden by experienced hoop John Kissick made his move at the top of the straight and dashed to the lead to beat the big 15 horse field by two lengths.
